Mango Wood Gustavian Mora Clock

This Gustavian Mora Clock can be purchased in the raw mango wood finish or we can hand finish this for you!

During the long and dark winter months, peasant farmers in xviiith century Sweden turned their hands to furniture making in order to supplement their income. The long case clocks originate from Mora in central Sweden and have become extremely sought after. Their simple, almost naïve designs turn them into a style statement in any context.

Handmade in solid hardwood, this interpretation is closely based on an original eighteenth century specimen and comes complete with a quartz mechanism and an enamel painted metal face.

Finishes and Options

When we paint pieces for you, we let you choose from our 9 basic paint colours – shown in the image gallery – or you may specify your own. Our 9 House Colours are all neutral tones designed to harmonise with most situations so normally one of these will work! We lightly drag an antiquing glaze over the top to soften the look further and bring out the details of the various mouldings and carvings that we use. The paint and glaze is then given further protection using a number of coats of satin lacquer.

Our colours are shown in the images but we would happily send you a painted sample upon request.
